How To Cure Pricking Sensation On The Skin?

When I go tanning, I get a pin pricking sensation on the surface of my skin that lasts the next several hours. It feels like I m being pricked over and over, and the skin itches. Any ideas what is causing it or what I can do to stop it? I take no medication, I use no lotions. I just lay in the bed, and usually within two minutes I start to feel the pricks, and they grow with intensity the longer I stay in the bed.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

As per your case history of prickly sensation, my treatment advice is:

1. Maintain good hygiene and bath twice daily.
2. Apply a soothing lotion like Calamine lotion on the affected region twice daily.
3. Take a vitamin C supplement once daily for 3 months.

If the problem persists, then consult a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
