How To Cure Itchy Rashes On The Buttocks?

Ive had a rash on the top of my butt crack for years. It has red bumps that scab over. The whole patch of skin is red and itchy. It is alternately moist and dry and flaky. I've seen doctors and a dermatologist who told me to pat it dry and apply hydrocortizone cream to stop the itching. This helps but it never goes away. The rash hasn't gotten any larger or changed in color or shape. How can I get rid of it?

Hi,

It seems that probably you may be having intergluteal intertrigo. There may be infection caused by bacteria and fungus. The disease may be exacerbated by soap,water and perspiration. Blood test may be done to rule out DM,HIV,anaemia and other internal diseases. Antihistaminic like levocetirizine may be taken till itch is relieved. Antibiotics may be taken to clear infection. Antifungal like ketoconazole may be taken for few weeks. Antifungal and antibiotics cream may be applied. Dettol liq may be used to cleanse the area. You consult dermatologist for firm treatment.
