My son is 4.5 yrs old and weighs almost 14 kgs. he has been vomitting, since today morning. no fever. looks like indigestion. i have emeset and carmicide at home. gave hims carmicide 5 ml, but he threw up again. how much of emeset should be given to stop vomitting?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your 4.5 year old son having vomiting and understood the concerns. The vomiting is since morning, he weighs only 14 kg, looks like indigestion given 5 ml carmicide and wants to give Emset. Since the patient is a child and weighs only 14 kg, it is possible that he can go into dehydration and can cause electrolyte imbalance. Hence I would advise you the following: Such a problems should bee seen by a Pediatrician for the clinical evaluation, examination and to go for investigations as needed. He can also calculate the proper dosages for Emset and add-on other medications as per his clinical judgement. Do not treat such problems in children at home on your own.
