How To Cure Increased Broncho Vascular Marking?

Chest x-ray returned following finding:



"Extensive increased bronchovascular markings seen in both lung fields with fibro calcific changes within. Areas of collapse - consolidation seen in the left upper zone with shift of mediastinum and trachea to the left. Crowding of left sided ribs noted. Emphysematous changes seen in right lung field."



What does this mean?

I can understand your concern.
This x ray report is suggestive of left sided fibrotic lung due to previous infection like tuberculosis or pneumonia.
There is left sided crowding of ribs and right sided hypertrophy and emphysema.
This clearly suggest that patient is having non functioning left sided lung since long time.
There are fibro calcified lesions also.
This suggests possibility of old infection like tuberculosis or pneumonia. Healing from these diseases produce fibro calcified lesions.
So to summarize, this chest x ray is suggestive of old, healed scar lesions with fibrotic left lung and hypertrophic right lung.
Patient may need inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid. So consult pulmonologist.
