Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My bowels smell like balloons or latex. I had my gallbladder removed last year. It was diseased. I haven t had a normal bowel movement since. It s always almost diarrhea; very...fudgey. I take 6 or more Omeprozole a day. I use Pepto all the time. I take a Probiotic daily. My diet is mostly healthy and hasn t changed. If it has, it s more healthy now. But nothing helps. Sometimes I even get this strange warm sensation that rushes through my whole body which makes me unable to move my limbs. I m very afraid, but I don t have insurance yet so I can t go to the doctor.
Diarrhea can be seen after gallbladder removal, which is usually due to an excess of bile acids in your stool. Usually the bile acids get stored in the gallbladder and released only when you eat. Without a gallbladder, they just drain directly into the small intestine. Your diarrhea should gradually improve over time, but if I saw you in my clinic I would probably try a bile-acid binding medicine like cholestyramine (in the US). Unfortunately you would have to get this from a doctor. In the meantime, you could over-the-counter remedies such as Immodium to try to get some relief.
I'm not sure what the "warm sensation" you are describing is, but it does not sound like it is related to your diarrhea.
