How To Cure Cough And Running Nose In Kids?

My son has had a cough & runny nose for the last couple days and his eyes have been watery & gooey. Yesterday after he took a nap i noticed his eyes were bloodshot. Today his right eye is swollen. Im not sure what to do other than clean it with a warm damp cloth.
