How To Cure Canker Sore With Oozing Pus?

canker sore pus
I have a canker sore that continuously excretes pus. It is 7.5mm in diameter and started as a raised painless red bump about a week ago. It is on my upper lip and it is chapped and dry as I cannot close my lips because it is uncomfortable. I also have what I think is called fordyce spots which have been in my lips for years. When I wake up in the morning it has accumulated a lot of yellowish pus. When i wash it it sometimes bleeds. I always get canker sores maybe 3-5 times a year but nothing like this becore. I wear braces and stick wax to the bracket to avoid contact and friction with the sore. I am not sexually active. Also, just before this one I had 2 canker sores on the lower lip and the tongue that just healed a couple of days back.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it does not seems like a Canker sore but looks like an Abscess caused due to bacterial infection leading to formation of a pus filled bump..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can advise you oral intake of antibiotics like a combination of Sulphamethoxazole and Trimethorphan, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
Cleaning the area with antiseptic solution like Betadine and apply an antibiotic ointment over it..
You should gently press the are with a sterile gauze to release pus as it will help in healing faster..
In case if the bump forms again and again Incision and drainage can be done for relief..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
