How To Cure Blisters On The Cheeks And Sun Tan?

My 2 grandchildren are 3 and 12 from Nepal and both are now in the states. They have spent more time in the sun than they are used to . They both are very tan, and have developed lighter bloches on their cheeks. Is there somerhting that is causing this, that we can avoid? Thanks

Hello,

I understand your concern for blisters on the cheeks and sun tan after sun exposure in your grandchildren. It appears from your query that your grandchildren have got mild sunburn due to exposure to sunlight on higher side. This is causing peeling of the skin and resultant blisters.

Whenever the sunlight is continuously exposed on skin, it can cause peeling of the skin and resultant blisters on the affected area. In my patients with your grandchildren kind of condition I suggest them to apply a lotion containing moisturizing factors to be applied for multiple times a day.

For itching I suggest my patients to take an antihistamine such as cetrizine or levocetrizine for two times a day as per their body weight.

Ask their mother to prevent the sun exposure and therefore I also suggest you to reduce the sun exposure on higher side.

All the best.
