Sir,i have completely torn my acl 2 months ago.i have consulted many orthos and everybody is talking about reconstruction since it is a complete tear.i have taken an mri for it and 1 out of the six orthos i consulted said the mri reads complete tear but it is only 70% tear.iam 28years old and iam not really keen on operating.i want to know if ligament can be rejoined through ayurveda treatment.
** 1. since you have undergone examination and opinion thus probably it will require ligament surgery as well as arthroscopy, therefore only your examining orthopedic can decide the right time to operate.
PS. in complete tear healing don't occur so surgery is advised for complete attainment of function. Results of surgery are very good but at least 3-6 months rest is advised.
2. non-surgical treatment for ACL rupture is "conservative management", and includes physical therapy along with using a knee brace, [thus sports with cutting and twisting motions are discouraged]
3. After an injury/tear, the knee is never "normal." thus for expert guidance kindly consult an orthopedic Surgeon or Sport Medicine Specialist for necessary instructions and rehabilitation.
