I will try my best to answer your query See, the fact remains that no good diabetician is going to change the medicines based on one report of raised sugars. If there is a series of sugars that are high, a revision of therapy may be considered. Also, a test called HbA1c is a good guide to the change of therapy since it gives a general idea of the last 3 months sugars dating back from the date of the test. Glimaday is a combination of glimipride and metformin Pioz MF is a combination of pioglitazone and meformin AC is acarbose. So overall thats a very very high dose of anti diabetes medicines. I hope she is not on steroids??? And I hope her diet is well controlled and she has been doing moderate physical exercise as tolerated like small walk I could suggest trying medicines like sitagliptin. A dose of 50 mg is the usual starting dose and then it can be stepped up from once a day to twice a day. Some doctors give it more than that, but I avoid that.
