How To Confirm Pregnancy?

Hello! I am 44 years old and had my tubes tied with my last child 7 years ago. I have had very sensitive breasts the last couple of days and I am 10 days late for my period. Do you think I could be pregnant or maybe it is just I am starting menopause?

Thank you for asking on HealthcareMagic.com, providing better healthcare for you. I have gone through your case and I can understand your concern.
Based on your history and your age, there are two possibilities of your sensitive breats and missed period:
1. perimenopause, a condition that preceeds menopause, usually in a woman’s 40s.
2. ectopic pregnancy

In the first year after a tubal ligation, it's estimated that fewer than 1 out of 100 women will get pregnant. The younger you are at the time of a tubal ligation, the more likely the sterilization is to fail. If you do conceive after having a tubal ligation, there's a higher chance that the pregnancy will be ectopic, when the fertilized egg implants outside the uterus (usually in a fallopian tube).

Tests required in your case:
- urine prenancy tests
- HCG blood test - quantitative
- an ultrasound
