Positive
blood test has given you the diagnosis of
pregnancy. Still if you want another confirmatory examination to be done, you can get her
ultrasonography done. This will confirm the diagnosis.
If you are thinking of termination of the pregnancy following guidelines may be of use to you:
1. Do not get the help of any quack, go to an authorized
MTP Obstetrician only.
2. Get pregnancy terminated only in recognized MTP centres.
3. Up to 9 weeks, the pregnancy can be terminated by oral medicines. However, they have to be taken on Obstetrician's advice and under supervision.
4. Do not waste time. Earlier you go, easier is the termination.
5. Before termination of pregnancy is attempted, please get her Rh
blood group checked to avoid further complications in future pregnancies. If she is Rh -ve, she may require Rh antigammaglobulin injection.
6. Since it is a case of rape, please get her tested for HIV. She may require follow up tests also after 6 months.
I hope you are guided properly by this.
