Hallow Dear, When you have ectopic pregnancy once, the chances of ectopic pregnancy do increase in the subsequent pregnancies. Your expected menses were very scanty; hence you do have a reason to suspect ectopic pregnancy. If there is ectopic pregnancy, the pregnancy test is positive (mostly weak positive where one line is faint); however, the ultrasonography shows empty uterine cavity. At such early phase, ultrasonography may not detect pregnancy in the tube. Laparoscopy may help to detect some evidence of pregnancy in the tube. If detected through Laparoscope, such ectopic pregnancy may be tackled by Laparoscopic micro-surgery. If the ectopic pregnancy has ruptured, then there is bleeding in the peritoneal cavity and the Pouch of Douglas. Putting a needle between the vagina and rectum aspirates blood. This test is performed to diagnose ruptured ectopic pregnancy. This is a serious haemorrhagic complication which needs urgent surgical intervention with many units of blood transfusion.
