How To Check For Pregnancy?

Hi my friend lost her virginity yesterday. She was supposed to start her period around today or the next few days according to her calendar. She had brown discharge and her vagina burned. Now she checked and its red. She is freaking out if she is pregnant or not.

Thanks for writing to us.

If she had lost her virginity (yesterday) just before period date (today), then she has NO chance of pregnancy.

Brown discharge may be due to old blood, endometrial tissue, pelvic or vaginal infection, late period itself etc.

If you have any doubt regarding pregnancy, I can suggest to undergo one home pregnancy test to be sure.

Maintain genital hygiene and wait for period up to 7 days to get period naturally. If she doesn't get it, she may require progesterone pill to induce period.

Practice safe sex in future. Good luck.
