How To Check For Brain Damage After Exposure To Chemical Fumes?

Hi my name Brenda. I refinish bathtubs using solvents with Methyl ketones and think I have had a over exposed this chemical which made me almost pass out a week ago. At first my head felt like it was on fire due to the lack of oxygen and think I may have damage my Brain by this since the pain is still there after a week. I think the only way to know is a CT scan. Not sure what to do about this at the moment. This has happen before, But this time it was more then the other times. I feel out of if all the time and head feels hot all the time since the over exposure. I know I need to see a doctor just don t think they can do much for me.

Hello
Thank You for contacting HCM.

Brain damage is a serious complication and causes severe effects. It damages cognitive behavior and other aspects. If you are able to carry out your normal day to day life then it means your brain is healthy. The generalized uneasiness/ fire thing was because of oxygen deprivation. I would suggest you not to worry and carry out your daily life. Try to breath fresh air as much as you can and whenever you want to do such work then wear gas mask to avoid over exposure.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow
up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us.
Wishing you good health.
