I have been on synthroid for 15 years and have had many unpleasant side effect; not sleeping, anxiety, weight gain and recently estrogen based breast cancer. Now, I am want to go on a natural thyroid medication. I have self split the synthroid in 1/2 and feel so much better. What should I do?

Hi thanks for using Healthcaremagic
In thyroid replacement therapy we have to replace the amount which is required...
For that we have to monitor TSH and Free T4.Peoper replacement won't cause these unwanted effects....
Hence I feel the dosage is not proper .
If you are feeling comfortable with 1/2 ,could be two reasons

1.You were taking more than the required dose..
2.Your feeling of taking more dose ...

please do the Thyroid profile and consult a physician or endocrinologist.....

thank you....
