Hi, Naveen here from India. I recently got married and me and my wife are not yet properly settled down in our career path. So want to focus on career and avoid baby for some 3 years. Would like to know the best way to go head with this decision in such a way that it does not spoil my wife s health by taking any treatment.Thank you looking for a positive answer
Hi.. welcome to HCM.. Thanks for the query.. there are various options of contraception.. one is to use condoms which doesn't have any side effects and it protects against sexually transmitted diseases also.. but it has failure rates due to mechanical breakage etc., hormonal contraceptives can be used.. nowadays they come with very less side effects and long term problems are also very less. they need to be taken at the same time every day without fail and if missed for more than 2 consecutive days you need to go for alternative method for that cycle. and getting pregnant after stopping contraceptive pills is not a problem.. the ovulatory cycles will be regained after 3-6 months of stopping the pills. you can use safe period also but it has high failure rates and so not recommended.. so before you go for a hormonal contraceptive pills better to visit the doctor to rule out the pregnancy and also for a general check up.. Hope this information helps you.. take care..
