My mother and I live in Turkey. She had a stroke yesterday and I called the emergency took her to a private hospital and is in ICU. She is 77 year young white female. Has high blood pressure and Diabetes. Right now she is able to talk, but some words will not come out. She has a left side of the brain clot. She can move her legs. Her right arm is weak. Doctors says she will probably get of ICU and go to a regular room in the hospital. She recognizes me. Doctors also say it may occur again. Which I m hoping not. What is your suggestion or idea?
I had open heart surgery 6 yrs. ago, repaired valve and closed up hole, and I recently had what they called a TIA. I ve been on blood thinners for all this time because I have AFib and suffered a blood clot 6 yrs. ago before surgery. Since the TIA and many tests now hey say I do not have high Cholestrol & no clogged arteries and they couldn t find a brain bleed but they want me to start Statins. I hate to take more medicines if I can avoid it. They say because I am high risk they might help prevent another stroke. How do they help if I don t even have a cholesterol problem & do you think I should take them? Thank you..
My daughter had a frontal lobe stroke 25 years ago and last year had two strokes, one in the frontal lobe and one in the cerebellum. I don t know what type of stroke the cerebellum was, others were ischemic. This past Sunday, she fell off the couch, unable to move her left side, face drooping. Husband called 911 for ambulance. Doctor told her they don t think it was a stroke, probably a pseudo stroke which can happen a year after original stroke. How could we tell the difference?
I have been tracking my bp and pulse now for two weeks. I have gone to a no added sugar and no added salt diet. The second week I have added a half an hour of aerobic exercise. My average heart beat has increased and my bp has decreased. Why sould my heart berat increase?
havn t been doing any physical activity for over a year and i ve just gotten back into running. i started with high intensity interval training (run for 30 seconds as hard as possible, then walk for a minute) right away did it for 2 nights like this: 5 min jog 4 mins of HIIT then id mix between walking and running. on the third night i did 5mins jog then 6 mins of HIIT and at the end of the HIIT i experienced pains in my heart area and had a really high heart rate also it felt weird when i took a deep breath but not a normal breath, i started walking and the pain went away, then when i started to jog again the pain came back after a while when my heart rate increased. i dont have a history of anything like this before and neither do any of my family. Am i just starting out too high for this sort of stuff and take it down a noch? btw im 17, 5 11 , and 181lbs.
