Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I have read carefully your history and you should know that after having unprotected anal sex exist the risk of HIV. So, I suggest to do a 4 th generation HIV test 4-6 weeks after exposure and should repeat after 3 months from exposure as a conclusive test.

Hope I have answered your query.

Hello, Im really worried due to the fact that i had unprotected oral sex performed to me and i dont know his hiv status, by tge way im a female. His lips looked a little chapped. I got tested at 21 & 39 after possible exposure and the tests came back negative, so my questions are... How accurate are the tests after the days mentioned above and was my exposure high risk? Thank You

Hi doctor, i got my HIV test is nonreactive . They say : patient nonreactive for HIV antibody may be infected but have not yet seroconverted. If a nonreactive result seems inconsistent with the clinical setting, resubmit new specimen for retest in 1-3 months. I did this test a year almost 13 months after exposure. Do I need make another test? Is this test is accurate?

Hi doctor, I was worried of being infected with HIV from the moment i started developing symptoms. So i took an antibody test 6 weeks after exposure which came out negative. I also got a duo test at 8 weeks exposure and another rapid at 9, 11 and 13 weeks - negative. During this time I ve only had physical contact with my boyfriend who went on holiday. So i also made him test with a duo test at 10 weeks of any possible contact since his holiday. Am I in the clear? Is there Any need to retest after this? I ve heard that a hepatitis c confection would delay the 3 month HIV testing up to 6 months as well as any autoimmune disorders. But how do you know if your immune system is that weak not to produce antibodies within three months?
