How Should Sinus Citrobacter Koseri With Pus, Burning And Discomfort Be Treated?
Yes..I have citrobacter koseri in my sinuses causing me great discomfort, much pus. My sinuses are burning along with my mouth, throat and ears. My ENT gave me cipro but it did not work. My ENT is afraid of giving me IV atb because she is unfamiliar with this bacteria. All of my immune tests came back negative and the ENT seems to be more concerned with how I got this and not how to fix. I am getting more sick every day. I am in healthcare and am worried I can spread this. Should I get a second opinion so I may be treated before I get to sick?
Hi, welcome to Healthcare Magic.. Feeling sorry for what is going on with you..dont worry everything will be alright... citrobacter koseri an environmental, Gram-negative bacterium,is occasionally found as a coloniser of the human gastrointestinal tract. It has the ability to easily incorporate antibiotic-resistance..that could be the reason why all those antibiotics are not working for you.. so i advice a higher generation cephalosporins for you...yes this could spread to others..till you get well you should stay isolated..sorry to say.. wish you a speedy recovery....
