Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. It is good that other than pain, you are not having any symptoms. For pain, you can follow these tips
: Apply
Diclofenac gel over local area of neck pain
: Apply cold compresses over swelling if any. It reduces swelling.
: Avoid pressure at injury site while lying down.
: You can stronger pain killer like Diclofenac tablet after proper prescription. Usual adult dose of Diclofenac what I prescribe, is 50mg thrice a day.
: Still no relief, you should take
ultrasonic therapy over neck after consulting therapist.
Also look for any dangerous signs of head and neck injury
: Non relieving pain or continuously increasing pain
: Onset of new focal deficit
: Tingling, needle like sensation in extremities
: vomiting
:
loss of consciousness or decreasing consciousness
: persistent dizziness/vertigo
If any of above sign appears, you should consult ER. You may be advised CT head and
cervical spine to rule out
fracture or bleed. Further management will be decided after scan report.
Thanks. Hope it will help you. Take care.
