How Should Dizziness, Concussion Like Feeling, And Unsteady Gait Be Managed After An Accident?

I was in a major roll over vehicle accident where I was ejected, and suffered a major concussion. I am still not feeling normal, I still feel dizzy most of the time, I cannot concentrate, my gate is very unsteady and I have little clarity, how long does a concussion last, is this even a concussion..??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Symptoms of concussion can take a very long time (months) to recover from and in severe case the will be permanent residual symptoms. This is especially the case if it is not treated sufficiently in the early stages.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Martin Christian Harmsen, General & Family Physician
