Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Im on birthcontrol (mono-linyah) and I have a week and 2 days left of the non-placebo pills before a week of placebo and I just stopped taking a week of placebo pills 5 days ago. If I continue to take the last of my non-placebnon-placebo pills in order then I will be taking the placebo pills on my anniversary and my birthday...Is it possible that after the next 2 days of non-placebo I could take the week of placebo pills early so that I m not on my period for those days? And will I still be protected if I did?
There are three different ways to start taking birth control pills.
Start your pills on the first day of your period. Continue to take one pill every day at the same time. With this method, you do not need to use a backup method as the pills are effective in preventing pregnancy.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
