Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am scheduled to have a colonoscopy Monday,I was reading the instructions for the bowel prep kit and it said to take the prep before bed that consist of 42 oz. fluid and take the other prep 2hrs. before procedure but doctor stated that I could only have a sip of water that mourning with my blood pressure medication. So something seems wrong to me.
That is exactly right for a colonoscopy. The colon should be completely evacuated of fecal matters for which peglec powder along with 2 liter water is taken and nothing else should be taken orally.
In the morning, just take the necessary medicine with sips of water and evacuate bowel completely before the procedure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Bhadresh Lakhani
