How Should Multivitamin, Omega Supplements And Ginkgo Biloba With Vinpocetine Be Taken?

Hi Doctor , I am 23 years old .
I am having a little trouble with my intestinal , the POO ( waste that discharge from our body) has become in darker color recently due to I eat more meat than vegetable. In this case what should I do to make fix of this problem ?
I am having a chewable Multivitamin/Mineral Supplement daily for every lunch time.
Beside I am planning to have Omega 3 and Ginkgo Biloba 120mg inserted as my daily supplement.
From the test I made ( all of the test were taken after lunch time ) in using each 1 of the 3 supplements , I found that those of them got their side effects seen accordingly.
1 : Chewable Multivitamin/Mineral --> My sex health has improved.
2 : Omega 3 : I got stomach upset with burping the fish oil after 1 or 2 hours taking it.
3 : Ginkgo Biloba with Vinpocetine : I become more Alert but with also often do dreaming as after I've slept for 5 hours of my full sleep 6 hours .
To this matter , how should i take these three essential supplements in time order without overacting the effectiveness of the supplements.
Regards
Tito

Welcome to HCM,
I will provide you some general guidance as to your issues. You ask a number of very specific questions that would be better dealt with on a private consultation as interaction reports would have to be generated to answer some of your specific questions.

You speak of the color of your waste products and generally, the darker the stool the more iron is present, strictly dietarily speaking, which would come with the increased meat consumption. Also, the longer the stool sits in the intestine may affects color, so promoting regular evacuation is important. In this respect, try to assure fluid intake is 8-10 cups per day and if fiber intake is low, gradually increase it.

Regarding omega-3 and your query #2, I suggest you purchase vegetarian omega-3 supplements made from algae and not fish to avoid the distasteful
"burping"

Regarding ginkgo and vinpocetine, the interaction checker did not find any issues.

Generally, the multivitamin is in am. The ginkgo is taken separately from the multi and can be taken with vinpocetine according to my sources and experience. Since the ginkgo and the vinpocetine are generally taken to enhance cognition, these are taken fairly early in the day.

I hope I have addressed your issues. If your issues are more involved, you might want to make an appointment with a Dietitian or come through our Specialist Portal. Regards, Kathryn Shattler, MS,RDN
