How Should HPV Vaccination Be Taken?

Hi, I am a 24 year old female and have been thinking about getting the HPV vaccine. However I was wondering about a few things: How strictly do I have to oblige to the schedule of the three shots (can I have the second shot after only 5 weeks and the third after half a year?) Are there studies on how big the chances of the vaccine being effective are if I don t get the third shot? And is there any information on how fast the vaccine starts being effective - is there any estimated numbers as to when it is safe to have sex after getting the first shot (with a new partner)?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Until you take the scheduled dose of vaccine which has been proposed by WHO you won't get vaccinated properly, and if you leave gaps in between, then you need to repeat all three vaccines again.

Rather than doing all that kindly take vaccine as scheduled, and you will be vaccinated after the course. Until then, if you have sex, then we can’t guarantee you. Please follow the schedule.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
