Hello dear Understand your concern Yes you can taken familon to prevent pregnancy as contraception safely. You have to start when your bleeding stops, means starting from first day of new cycle. Take tablet regularly for 21 days. It should be taken regularly to prevent the pregnancy and side effects. If you miss the dose there is high chance of prgnancy. If you miss one tablet then take 2 tablet at next day. If you will miss two tablet then use other contraceptive method along with remaining tablet. So taking OCP is like dialy routine task like tooth brush, eating meal. So to make your routine best to take at particular time of the day for whole month. So put it either to with meal so you can remember, put reminder in mobile so you cant forget the dose. It cause minor side effects like nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramp, irregular spotting, breast tenderness. Take healthy diet with iron and folic acid supplements and do regular exercise like walking and yoga. Maintain hygiene before and after sex to prevent infection.
