How Should Cytotec Be Used For Termination Of An Unwanted Pregnancy?

Hello Doctor,I missed my periods ... It is two weeks that I had intercourse...did not expect pregnancy as I am not ready ...I am traveling to UK in September and I will not be able continue my pregnancy. Can you advisee how to use Cytotec 200mg tablet. Regards Sunitha

Hi

I have understood your concern and I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.As you have missed your periods, please get morning's first sample of urine tested for pregnancy. If it is negative then you can simply wait for the onset of periods.

if it is positive, then I will suggest you to confirm intrauterine pregnancy on USG. You can very well terminate the pregnancy safely till 9 weeks of gestation under medical supervision with the tablets.Tablet Mifepristone followed by Tablets Misoprostol orally, vaginally after 48 hours. This helps to get the pregnancy aborted in most of the cases.
