How Serious Is A Blood Clot Behind The Eardrum?
How serious is a blood clot behind the eardrum? My daughter has been on antibiotics for an ear infection for 4 days and returned today to have it checked as there has been no improvement. She has been prescribed different antibiotics and told if it doesn t improve in 24 hours to go to the hospital. Also told there appears to be clotted blood behind the eardrum. It is making her feel very unwell.

Blood clot behind the ear drum is normal and needs to be evaluated, please dont delay and meet your ent doctor as soon as possible . She may have sustained trauma and this can affect her hearing , please dont delay and meet your doctor as soon as possible.
