How Safe Is Using Prednisone To Increase Platelet Count?

my blood sugar is going up to 400.i am injecting novolog.11 units before meals at 203.take 60mg. prednisone,1000 niacin,metoprolol.my blood platelets are 20.using prednisone to increase platelets.will this harm me.206 seems to be as low i can get sugar down.

I really appreciate your concern, if the platelet is low then underlying cause of this is matter of concern, and this can not be just treated with Prednisone (Steroid) because of Diabetes, it is advisable to get done the test to find out the etiology of low platelet, hope this information helps, take care, have a nice day.
