How Safe Is Taking Ibuprofen For Swelling Of Gums And Throat Gland?
I had a failed root canal so now i only have half a tooth that i know must be taken out, however tonight around the tooth, my gums are swollen down to my throat gland. it hurts so i took ibuprofen. what will stop the pain for the meantime and is swollen gums contagious or harmfull to others that come in contact with your mouth?
It is very unfortunate for the failure of the root canal ,but it does happens . The swelling of the gums could be due to the formation of an abscess in relation to the tooth.
For pain you can take ibuprofen(if you are not allergic to any medicine).Antibiotic coverage may include Amoxicillin 500mg and metrolag 200mg on prescription.
I would advice you to get the tooth extracted at the earliest and then go for the replacement of the tooth.
Do salt water gargling.Avoid hot bag application externally.
hellooo....you are right you have to take it out..but now for meantime take antibiotic amoxicillin and metronidazole to reduce the swollen gums..and do salt water gargle...its not contagious if it comes in contact with ur mouth..so dont worry in that....and take antibiotics but more importantly get the tooth extracted as fast as you can...why to simply suffer pain if u have ways to remove the pain!!!hope u got the reply..have a nice day!!!
