How Safe Is Taking Glyburide To Control Sugar Levels?

I have been taking Xarelto for about 6 months and had been a type 2 diabetic managed with diet and exercise. Since beginning Xarelto my blood sugars have been unusually high-never below 155 and frequently over 200. I have also been gaining weight. I am now taking 20mg of glyburide with no noticeable effect. Any thoughts?

Good day,
Noted your concern.
Glyburide is a potent diabetic drug. The dose what you are taking is almost the maximum. If the sugars are are still high, then it means that your pancreas is not working well. What is your height and weight ? What about your kidney functions?
BAsed on the above information, we can modify your diabetes medications.

I don't prefer Glyburide as a first line drug. It is cheap, but very potent. It just squeezes your beta cells in pancreas and makes it die faster. There are much better drugs now a days

Regards
Binu
