How Safe Is Going For HCG Drops?

I have been heavy all my life but each time I was pregnant, I would go down to a normal weight with little change to my eating patterns. If anything, I was able to eat more. Soon after my babies were born, the weight would start coming back, even though I nearly starved myself and joined a gym within weeks of delivery one time to keep it off. My doctor put me through a number of tests with various specialists ... this was more than 30 years ago ... and they said the weight loss was triggered by the pregnancy. Would HCG drops trigger that same response? Would I endanger my health by trying them?
