Hi,

Meftal-P syrup contains mefenamic acid which is used to treat moderate to severe pain conditions like muscle pain, headache, joint pain, dental pain, earache, fever etc. It is effectively alleviates pain and inflammation. It works by blocking the chemical messengers in the brain which tell us we have pain. It should be taken with foods. The dose and duration will depend on what your child is taking it for and how well it helps your baby's symptoms. Your baby should keep taking this medication even he feels better until the doctor says it is alright to stop using it.

It is a safe and effective medication for children for short time use. Take it as prescribed by your doctor to get the most benefit. Don't take more or for longer than needed as that can be dangerous. In general, your child should take the lowest dose that works for the shortest possible time. If any side effect appears while taking this medication, then your child should stop taking this medication and inform his doctor immediately for medical help.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
