General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for Posting in HealthCare Magic.

Diagnosis of myocardial infarction has to be done by a combination of parameters and cannot be done using a single test like Troponins.
These include:
1. Clinical Evaluation
2. Electrocardigram
3. Serm levels of enzymes:
(a) CK-MB (b) Cardiac Troponin (c) Myoglobin (d) LDH
4. Echocardiogram

Enzyme levels can be repeated every 6 - 12 hours to know about the progress of infarction.
In case myocardial infarction is treated, CK - MB levels are monitored every 24 hours to know the effectiveness of thrombolytic treatment.

Hope the information provided is useful.
