The normal value for
SGOT is between 5-40. As far as your father's disease, I suggest you love him more than you ever knew was possible. He needs support , love and understanding. Believe me , he will resist your acts of kindness initially. The thinking is you weren't there for me when I was getting myself sick. Why should I accept your help now, when it's too late??? . I know. I've battled this horrible disease for three years now. If people knew what alcohol could do to their bodies, they'd never drink an ounce. For example,
chronic constipation, impacted bowel(more pain than you could ever imagine) severe muscle wasting- your classic body builder physique turns into a body of bones. muscle cramping- anytime, anywhere on your body. They can bring you to tears. Sex? forget about it.aint gonna happen., hair loss, men grow breasts, constant itching. bloating-I've had 100lbs of fluid drained from my stomach in the last two weeks.
With all of these issues(and there's more), it's understandable how people with
cirrhosis want to end their life. BUT, you cant let this happen. For me, while getting sick is the worst thing that ever happened to me, it's also the best. I look at the world differently now. When the sun is shining, I stop and soak up the warmth. I look at the green grass and see how beautiful the green is. And staring out at the night sky? wow. stars twinkle like diamonds. And my friends and family. ? I don't deserve them. My brother and I didnt speak for years and when he first saw a picture of me when I became sick.he put everything aside and we're now best friends. It's funny. I dont even know why we stopped talking. He's the best. You've been given a gift. You have a chance to become really close to your father. Give him a reason to live!!! You'll never forget it. Good luck.now go call your dad.
