How Much Should A Fetus Weigh At Thirtieth Week Of Pregnancy?

Hi. My wife is 30 weeks pregnant and went for a scan 4 weeks ago (26 weeks) and the baby weighed 964g (2.12 Lb). He now weighs 1454g (3.20 Lb). Our Gynae has said that he should weigh closer to 4Lbs now. I have researched the average baby weight and he seems to be in line with the stage of pregnancy. We have been asked to go in for another scan in 2 weeks as she is concerned that he is not growing fast enough. Do you think that we should be concerned?

Hi, I think the growth is fine. Anyways discuss with your doctor regarding this. Ask her if she is concerned about something else like amniotic fluid level or she is suspecting a growth retardation. Bur according to the weight, your baby seems fine.
