How Much Lorazepam Is Advisable For Patient With Head Injury?
Hi My husband was on alprazolam for 3 years. He had fallen and injuried his head. His GP doctor put him on oxazepam and now his insurance won t pay for it. The doctor now has ordered lorazepam. He is on 2 pills during the day and 2 at night of the oxazepam 15 mg I think. can he combine the 2 pills as the doctor only ordered him to take 2- .5mg lorazepam a day. I don t feel that will be enough to ease his anxiety. He had a terrible withdrawal from the alprazolam and I m afraid he will also have withdrawal from the oxazepam. how much lorazepam should he be taking?
Hi Welcome to Healthcare-Magic Greetings of the day
It's hazardous to try to alter the dosage on your own without primarily involving your Primary Physician. It's always advisable to consult your Physician for any dose alteration.
All the drugs are related to anxiety. What is the age of your husband ? Any other ailment he is having. Further addition of drug depends on his requerment to be assesed by treating doctor.Let him do some yoga and meditation. He should not develop drug dependency.
