I am 74 years old and my daughter is having a baby in April. She says that I need a Whooping Cough injection otherwise I can not come close to the baby. Is this true and what do I do, where do I get and what does it cost or does it go through Medicare? Thanks, Bill Scholl. YYYY@YYYY Please note that this is my wife s e-mail PS I am a pensioner.

Based on the information provided your daughter is having baby in april and she says that you need a vaccine against whooping cough and you wanted to know is it trued and wether medicare will provide for the vaccine cost.

To answer your question, yes its true you need vaccine against the whooping as baby have very low immunity and its easy for them to get infected for the adults.

More over medicare will cover your vaccine cost. So please get the vaccine and for further queries may need to contact you primary care physician.

Hope it helps.
