How much days does one take to recover from chickenpox and what is the safe time to resume work ?

My 3 year old duaghter started with Chickenpox 8 days ago. Most of the spots have now scabbed over. Will she be ok to go on holiday on Saturday (and swim in the pool)?

Sorry she should not go for swimming in a pool & if possible even for a holiday. Please understand that although the eruptions are scabbed she is still an active carrier of the chicken pox virus which is in infective stage. She can go for swimming 2 weeks after the scabs are completely healed but she can go for a holiday after the scabs are healed.Till then the risk of transferring the infection will be there.

Take care.
