Hello Dr, I am having 3kids twins having 4 years and 1month,younger baby 1year and months old.They weigh boy(13kg),girl(14.7kg)&boy(7.8kg)respectively.All are below normal weight but eating habit is good.Dietician advised for deworming so bought zeebee albendazole oral suspension 200mg/ml(10ml).But don t know the dosage please help.And also please advise is weight gain and deworming is related to each other.. Young children 1 to 6 years old are prone to intestinal parasitic infections (worms). This is causing anemia and reduced weight in children as is happening in the case of your children.
If you live in an endemic area of worms, then, this explains why their pediatrician advised deworming. Otherwise, deworming is suggested if stool examination for ova/parasites confirms them.
Albendazole is a good medical choice. It must be given as prescribed by the pediatrician. The usual dose for : - 1 year old is 5 ml of the syrup you bought - 4 year old should be 10 ml (whole) bottle you bought
As you might see, you need another bottle to buy to complete the deworming.
Other family members should take it as preventive measures.
