Hello,

It is a very difficult situation you seem to be in with multiple issues. As I understand your current problem is a severe heartburn. Usually in diabetics this can be a problem due to poor nerve functions. Now considering that you have inoperable brain cancer it would have helped to know if you are on any steroids as prescribed by your treating doctor. Steroid can sometimes increase the chance of heartburn.

For this you can try to avoid heavy and fatty meals especially in the evening, try to take some antacids like Gelusil syrup 15 - 20 minutes after meals and not lying down immediately after to you eat. If your diabetes is under control these measures should help. If you are on steroids or if your diabetes is out of control you may need to go see your physician for the same.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shreya Kunder, General & Family Physician
