How Many Days Enterogermina Will Take To Cure Mesenteric Lymphadenti?
My son Aged 8 yrs 8 months,Weight approx 35kgs.He has mesenteric lymphadentis for last 2 wks due to which he is having stomach pain several times a day.He had Drotin 2.5 ml and calpol 10ml whenever in pain.But pain subsisting for days now.His bowl movement became irregular (2-3 times a days earlier it was once daily)Now Doct prescribe him Enterogermina.Can you please tell is it an antibiotic?Generally how many days it will take to cure mesenteric lymphadenti
2. Enterogermina is not an antibiotic - it is a probiotic and it is given only in antibiotic associated diarrhea.
3. Enterogermina doesn't cure diarrhea.
4. It seems your kid is having viral diarrhoea. Once it starts it will take 5-7 days to completely get better. Unless the kid's having low urine output or very dull or excessively sleepy or blood in motion or green bilious vomiting...you need not worry. There is no need to use antibiotics unless there is blood in the motion. Antibiotics might worsen if unnecessarily used causing antibiotic associated diarrhoea. I suggest you use zinc supplements (Z&D drops 1ml once daily for 14 days) & ORS (Each small packet mixed in 200ml of potable water and keep giving sip by sip) as hydration is very important and crucial part of treatment.
