Hi,

Long acting cortisone like Tricort is the standard non-surgical treatment for keloids. It may be given alone or in combination with 5-FU, Verapamil and Bleomycin. This injection is given in the keloid itself. Its effectiveness will depend on various factors including size & location of the keloid. Also different people behave differently as far as efficacy of this injection is concerned. Most of the patients will need one injection per month at least for 3-6 months, so that it becomes flat or less noticeable.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
