How Long Will A Patient Be In Diabetic Coma?

hi doctor My grandmother went into a diabetic coma around 12 in the morning she also has lung cancer that is spread thru her lungs and and small parts of her brain i was wondering how long will it be till she wakes up? and how can we calm her because it seems she is crying and attempting to talk? her cancer is very bad and she just got out of the hospital a few days but was submitted again this morning.-Thankyou

Thanks for posting your query.

Diabetic coma once blood sugars are corrected should not last for more than a hour.
But what I personally feel is she might been having altered sensorium due to her cancer.
Also there is possibility of abnormal sodium levels causing her coma. I advise you to post her reports so that i can advise you better.

But diabetic coma should not last more than few hours.
