How Long Will Zosyn Be Effective For Cipro Resistant Pseudomonas Ag Causing UTI?
My father gets complicated uti s and the offender lately has been cipro resistant pseudoamonas ag. It is susceptsble to zosyn and all the carbepenems. He has a permanent cath. so he will likely continue to keep getting these infections. My concern is how long will zosyn continue to be effective? zosyn mic was 4

Hello.Although Piperacillin-Tazobactam is a potent antibiotic, it is difficult to know how long will continue being effective.Permanent cath is a risk factor for UTI, now he has pseudomona but in time may have other bacterium resistant to piperacillin-tazobactam. However it is difficult that a bacterium is resistant to all kinds of antibiotics.I wish you good health.
