How long should she go on with the chemo ?

My mum had ovarian cancer 5yrs ago, had all removed, but it has come back onto her bowel. She is 83 had chemo recently, which did not shrink it, now is having taxol added. She is feeling very sick not eating well. If this taxol still does not shrink it when she is next scanned, would her general health be better if she stpped the chemo. I am just thinking she will get weak not eating well all the travelling to fro the hospital. In other words how long should she go on with the chemo

The ovarian cancer with bowel metastases needs only  palliative chemotherapy. She is not fit for surgery. The chemo shall continue for pretty long time for around 6 cycles of 21 days duration for each cycle.

Dr. My mother has stage 3 epithelial ovarian cancer as determined by her symptoms and an abdominal CT scan. We are going to a pre surgery meeting tomorrow and I am researching what questions I need to ask. She is 86 yrs of age and up to this point in time, has been very healthy, having never been on any long term perscription drugs. I am also researching chemo treatments and the possibility of Intraperitoneal Chemo treatment. Please let me know what pre-surgery questions I should be asking and if IP Chemo may be a good choice.

My Father s hemoglobin level was 8.2 at last Drs visit. we are choosing to stop all chemo treatments and I would like to know, how long can a person survive with this level and how fast it can go down from here and what happens when it goes lower? Will a heart attack be the most likely to happen or do other organs shut down first. He started out with skin cancer and then it has spread to his brain. He falls down like a rag doll at any given moment. How low does the level get before we know he is close to the end? If we start Hospice care I, believe they don t administer any shots to boost it so, what can we expect? Please, be frank and I thank you for your input and time. Sincerely, Wendy

Hi. I am currently under going Chemotherapy for stage 3A breast cancer. I just had my second round of Taxol this past Tues. I just went to the restroom and my stool is green. I am a bit constipated, so I know it is not diarrhea. I am also positive it is not any green leafy veg. or to much iron. I have not been eating green leafy veg. and I am actually craving protein, so more chicken than anything else. No jello, so I am not sure what it could be. Any suggestions?
