How Long Should A Splint Be Worn After Stitches On Knuckles?

I got stitches on my knuckle of my thumb and the doctor gave me a splint to wear to avoid bending it so the stitches did not come out. The doctor did not tell me how long to keep my thumb immobile. Should I wit the 10-14 days when the stitches come out or move it sooner?

hello,
its a good thing that your doctor gave you a splint to protect the stitches. u should wear your splint till your stitches come off. however u can intermittently remove your splint and move your thumb after a week's time. u can remove it 3-4 times a day and move your thumb and then reapply it.
hope i have answered your query.
regards
