How long should I wait to resume intercourse after biopsy and pelvic ultrasound ?

PELVIC ULTRASOUND: I had a biopsy last Thursday how long do you have to edit before you resume intercourse? What does of this means? HISTORY48 years female : Postmenopausal bleeding Comparison: 4-28-14 pelvic ultrasound Transabdominal sonographic evaluation of the pelvis reveals a retroflexed uterus measuring 11.0 x 5.2 x 4.6 cm. Transvaginal sonographic evaluation of the pelvis reveals several nabothian cysts in the cervix. The endometrial stripe is heterogeneous and exhibits a maximum thickness of 11 mm which is abnormally thickened for a postmenopausal female not on hormone replacement therapy. The uterine myometrium is diffusely heterogeneous, raising the possibility of adenomyosis. Multiple subcentimeter cystic spaces are noted in the endometrium. Neoplasia cannot be excluded. A small amount of free fluid is visible in the pelvis. A posterior, intramural fibroid measures 0.8 x 0.8 x 0.7 cm. The right ovary measures 3.0 x 3.0 x 1.4 cm. A hypoechoic lesion in the right adnexa, measuring 2.2 x 2.0 x 1.0 cm is most suggestive of a paraovarian cyst. The left ovary measures 4.4 x 2.1 x 1.9 cm and contains a 0.8 x 0.7 x 0.7 hypoechoic lesion with an echogenic rim; this lesion is not significantly changed from the prior exam. IMPRESSION: 1. Thickened endometrial stripe containing numerous subcentimeter cystic spaces; neoplasia cannot be excluded. Further evaluation with endometrial biopsy or sonohysterography should be considered. 2. Hypoechoic lesion previously noted in the right ovary is not evident on the current exam. 2. Subcentimeter, hypoechoic lesion in the left ovary which exhibits an echogenic rim is not significantly changed from 4-28-14. A similar lesion was noted on a 10-30-13 pelvic ultrasound,

Hello,

After a biopsy, you can resume having sex after 3-4 days after all the spotting stops completely. Pelvic ultrasound does not need any such rest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rakhi Tayal,

I am going to try and make this short as possible. I am 37 and have been having long cycles with blood clots, some very large. For this reason I went to the Dr. My cycles last the majority of the month. Basically my body is in reverse. I have a cycle for two weeks (if not three), no cycle for one week (or less) and then start for two more weeks if not three. I do have in between spotting as well. This has been going on for 5-8 months. When I am asked the last day of my last cycle I can’t answer it because I am so irregular and all the bleeding in between causes me to not know if it is a true cycle or not. Confusing!! I have had many apt and biopsies here is where I am at. Intimacy is pretty much impossible at this point due to all the blood and it does cause pain as well. I am even having trouble using tampons due to discomfort. Birth control pills have not helped at all!!! The pain is so bad I am left bent over until it stops. My plan was to have a small procedure done to burn the lining and make it stop. Also making me not fertile but this is ok, I do not want more kids. Due to the cone biopsy results I was told I can no longer have the smaller procure. After much talk it came to here are my option- hormone treatment (NO WAY) or hysterectomy. Hormone treatment is not an option. I tried everything for years in my 20’s when I was having issues and nothing worked, side effect, I was a hot mess full of fluctuating homers and crying etc. I never want to go through that ever again. Cone Biopsy Findings: Endometrial Hyperplasia and my cells are stacking on top of one another as well not just growing side by side. No Cancer so this si GREAT. At first they thought they found pre cancer but after another biop they found no cancer. Ultrasound: Done but have not seen Dr to have results explained. What I do know is my right ovary measures 1.90 ml volume and left is 12.97 ml volume. The only thing I do know is ovaries do vary from left to right in size but should not be more than a 2-1 ratio. My questions: Based on ultrasound ovary size differences is it odd to have such a massive size difference? This is more then a 2-1 ratio Could this size difference be part of the problem or the entire problem? Why is an ablation not an option just because I was said to have Endometrial Hyperplasia? We jumped from ablation to hysterectomy just based on that. I will take part that I refuse to take hormone therapy.

Hello, I had a pelvic ultrasound done because I have been experiencing bloating, weight gain, lower pelvic pain, bleeding after intercourse and fullness - some bowel and urination changes, too. The ultrasound report states my uterus is slightly enlarged (11.3 x 7.1 x 6.0 cm) with no uterine fibroids. Also states that the endometrium is normal in thickness (10 mm). It goes on to say that the right ovary is 2.6 x 2.6 x 1.8 cm and the left is 3.2 x 2.2 x 2.0 cm and there is a small complex follicle in the left ovary most likely physiologic which is 1.4 x 1.3 x 1.2 cm - no free fluid in the cul-de-sac. I don t currently have a doctor since I am waiting for open enrollment for insurance - Should I be concerned and see a doctor soon or is it something I can put off for a few months?

im a 62 years old woman, I just got a report from my doctor today that i got Paget disease of vulva , The specimen container is labelled with the patient s ID but not the specimen type n consists of a yellowish tan skin punch biopsy measuring 0.2x0.2x0.9cm. The punch biopsy includes skin n subcutaneous tissue. Sections of the skin show within the epidermis there are scattered large pale vacuuolate tumour cells occurring mainly singly with a few small clusters noted. The tumour cells have atypical nuclei with occasional prominent nucleoli noted. Mucin stain (PAS+D) shows strong cytoplasmic positively in the tumour cells. Within the dermis there is a dilated benign duct present. No underlying invasive carcinoma is seen in the biopsy. Immunohistochemical staining of the tumour cells in the epidermis show strong positive for CK7. The tumour cells are negative for CK20,S-100 and HMB45. The histological and immunohistochemical features are those of Paget disease of vulva. Actually i felt the problem a few years again in 2011, but the family check n check but can t find the reason, until now I got this report. So i need more advices from different doctors, is that disease a life threatening disease? what can I do now? I worry ! thanks for doctors advice....
