How Long Sciatica Pain Take To Relieve On Using Medications?

hai dr currently my gp told that i got sciatica pain but it has started may be from one month and i am going thru d medication of Gebapentin and proxen.i had these medicines from 10 days and i need to have for more than 10 days, usually how many days an estimate it will take to end this pain

Hello,

I have studied your case.
Due to compression of nerve root there is pain in your back and leg.
We can not comment on how many days it will take to heal,it depends on amount of nerve compression.

I will advise you to do MRI spine
For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started.
Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief.
I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.

Till time continue your medication.

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you got sciatica from may. You are taking Gebapentine and proxen for it .You are taking this for nearly 20 days. There is no time limit when these drugs will control pain, sometimes it is not controlled by drugs and operative treatment is done.In my clinical practice I can say that average time to control pain by gabapentine is nearly 6 weeks.
